Automation Engineer

Salary: $83000 - 104000 per year Requirements: We are looking for a bachelors degree in computer science, electrical engineering, automation engineering, or an equivalent background, or 2+ years of PLC programming or automation engineering experience. We require experience in PLC-based controls design, development, implementation, and support. We are looking for hands-on experience with Ladder Logic and structured programming on Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Codesys PLCs, or 2+ years of comparable experience. We need the ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays. Preferred experience includes working with material handling, flow, and capacity. Preferred experience includes industrial control systems, covering both hardware and software. Responsibilities: We serve as the site expert for maintaining the automation systems that are essential to operations. We troubleshoot and maintain material handling control systems, including PLC and PC controllers, industrial networks, motor control systems, servo drives, frequency drives, and electrical distribution systems. We monitor material handling equipment metrics and partner with maintenance and operations teams to resolve performance issues. We provide first-level escalation support for site technicians, both on-site and remotely. We perform and evaluate building system assessments to improve material handling system performance. We deliver proactive controls automation and technical support to maximize equipment reliability and operational performance. We analyze performance data, address complex control system issues, and help drive continuous improvement initiatives. We collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize material handling equipment systems and implement innovative projects.
