Database Administrator

Salary: $112000 - 203000 per year Requirements: We require a bachelors degree with 8 years of relevant experience, a masters degree with 6 years of relevant experience, or 4 additional years of experience in place of a degree. We require an active DoD TS clearance and the ability to obtain a DoD TS/SCI clearance with polygraph. We require the ability to obtain a Privileged User Account; Security+ and cloud certifications are needed for access qualification. We require 3+ years of database administration experience with systems such as SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle. We require 3+ years of database scripting experience using command-line interface tools. We require 3+ years of hands-on experience designing database schemas, data models, and performance tuning. We require experience administering databases in both on-premises and cloud environments. We require experience monitoring database health and reducing performance and SLA risks. We require experience working on highly technical teams in fast-paced, dynamic environments. We require experience controlling data access through record locking or similar methods. We require experience documenting and implementing security controls, including POAMs for vulnerabilities and findings. We require experience managing multiple database instances across environments. We require experience managing multiple data connections and interfaces. We require AWS Cloud Practitioner certification. Responsibilities: We collaborate with a diverse engineering team to develop ETL solutions for heterogeneous datasets. We administer, maintain, upgrade, and optimize databases to reduce technical debt. We design, maintain, and enhance database schemas and data models. We join engineering design discussions to understand dependencies and interactions with POSTMAN data stores. We document database architecture, implementation details, and system integrations. We define data export and import formats and structures. We define APIs for data sharing, including endpoints, authentication, authorization, segmentation, structure, and format. We manage multiple database instances and their interactions to preserve data consistency across the POSTMAN platform. We support CI/CD automation, code promotion, and deployment activities. We participate in daily scrums and program increment planning sessions. The work is based primarily on-site with our client in Bethesda, MD, with some flexibility for occasional remote tasks.
