Desktop Engineer, Scientific IT Operations

This role focuses on endpoint support, scientific IT asset management and project coordination. Key Responsibilities · Provide Level 2 support for Windows, Linux, macOS and iPad environments. · Support endpoint onboarding, offboarding, technology refresh, OS patching and upgrade activities. · Manage scientific IT hardware, software and software licensing throughout their lifecycle. · Maintain inventory records and nsure compliance with licensing and asset management requirements. · Participate in technology evaluations, Proof-of-Concepts (POCs) and endpoint-related projects. · Generate compliance, asset and operational reports while supporting continuous improvement initiatives. · Coordinate project activities with users, vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure successful delivery. · Preferred Experience · Desktop and endpoint support · Asset and licence management · Technology refresh projects · IT operations and service management · Endpoint deployment and lifecycle management Common Requirements · Bachelor's Degree in information Technology, Computer Science or related discipline. · Minimum 3 years of relevant desktop, endpoint support or IT operations experience. · Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. · Experience supporting enterprise end-user computing environments. · Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. · Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
