Embedded Functional Test Engineer

About the role We are seeking an experienced Embedded Functional Test Engineer to design, develop and implement reliable test solutions for new and existing products. You will work closely with product development, manufacturing and external vendors to ensure product testability, adequate test coverage and the successful introduction of production test systems. Key responsibilities Participate in new product design reviews and product evaluation activities. Provide Design for Test (DFT) recommendations during the product design phase to improve testability and test coverage. Develop manufacturing test plans, test specifications, test procedures and test coverage documentation based on product requirements. Design, develop and implement software for automated production test equipment using C, C++, C#, NI TestStand, PLC or similar technologies. Design electrical circuits, select appropriately rated components and work with vendors to develop test fixtures. Select suitable test strategies that deliver safe, reliable and cost-effective manufacturing test solutions. Troubleshoot test software, electronic hardware, test fixtures and production testing issues. Manage project schedules, budgets, financial tracking and action plans to meet assigned deliverables. Plan the procurement, installation and commissioning of test-related capital equipment for production facilities. Support the development and implementation of departmental, manufacturing and testing strategies. About you Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline. At least 3 years of relevant experience in test engineering, preferably involving the design and development of production test equipment. Hands-on programming experience in one or more of the following: C, C++, C#, NI TestStand or PLC programming. Good knowledge of electronic hardware, electrical circuitry and component selection. Experience developing automated functional test systems, test fixtures or manufacturing test solutions. Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to independently manage test engineering projects, schedules and deliverables. Good communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Preferred: Experience supporting new product introduction and manufacturing environments. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting new product introduction and manufacturing environments. Knowledge of embedded systems, hardware-software integration and production testing. Experience managing test equipment procurement, vendor coordination and equipment installation.
