Risk & Security IT Intern Engineer

Salary: $60,000 - 80,000 per year Requirements: We are pursuing a bachelors or masters degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline. We have an interest in software engineering with a strong emphasis on security and system protection. We are familiar with programming concepts and eager to develop secure coding practices. We bring solid problem-solving and analytical abilities. We are curious about how systems can be designed to prevent and reduce risk. We communicate and collaborate effectively. We can work both independently and as part of a team. A cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher is preferred. Responsibilities: We support the creation of secure applications and systems across our technology environment. We help implement security controls and best practices across software and platforms. We assist in finding and resolving vulnerabilities in applications and infrastructure. We build or improve tools, scripts, and processes that strengthen security and automation. We partner with engineering, security, and platform teams to deliver secure solutions. We gain exposure to secure software development methods and cybersecurity principles. We work in Agile teams and contribute to design, development, and testing activities. We build relationships with peers, mentors, and leaders across Vanguard. Vanguards Risk & Security Engineer internship is part of our College to Corporate (C2C) Internship Program and focuses on building secure technology solutions that protect our investors and our business. This is a full-time, paid 10-week summer internship with a start date in May/June 2027.
