Senior Network Engineer

Salary: $102,300 - 209,500 per year Requirements: We are looking for someone with 3-5 years of network infrastructure engineering experience focused on optics and optical networks. We require a bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering; a masters degree is preferred. Experience with data center cabling engineering is preferred. Product lifecycle management experience is a strong plus. A background in testing and qualification is also advantageous. Python coding and scripting skills are a significant plus. We value 10 to 15 years of industry experience, including 5 or more years in relevant cloud environments. We are seeking a strategic, technically strong leader with excellent communication, analytical thinking, and business insight. Responsibilities: We lead network lifecycle management programs by defining objectives, delivery processes, technical milestones, and supporting work. We act as a technical lead on moderately complex projects and may coordinate the work of two to three engineers. We advise project and program managers while partnering with leadership at multiple levels. We work across teams as technical subject-matter experts on cross-functional efforts. We own technical requirements, specifications, designs, and documentation for projects. We break down high-level network architectures into detailed, scalable solution designs. We guide engineers in building multi-layer network solutions with complex interactions. We partner with service teams to ensure monitoring, automation, and operational readiness are in place. We serve as a Tier 3 or specialist escalation point for network incidents, including large-scale break-fix support. We act as the primary technical contact for resolving complex network issues and leading root-cause analysis. We develop scripts and automation to simplify complex or non-standard operational tasks. We contribute to network automation design and delivery initiatives using a solid understanding of the software development lifecycle. We provide technical coaching and development support to junior and senior staff. We work with vendor engineering teams and account managers to resolve operational and business issues. We participate in RFQs and RFPs and help evaluate and adopt new vendor hardware and technology. We maintain communication with product teams, network leadership, and the PMO to identify gaps and align technology investments with product and service needs. This role has a direct impact on delivering optical capacity and engineering solutions that support Oracles cloud and AI infrastructure, with a focus on metro optical transport, cost reduction for equipment and services, training other teams, and supporting operations to improve availability and uptime.
