Software Development Engineer

Salary: $132000 - 178000 per year Requirements: We require a bachelors degree or equivalent. We need the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. We are looking for 5+ years of experience in object-oriented design and programming using a high-level language such as C#, .NET, Java, SQL, HTML, or CSS. We require 5+ years of software development experience on Windows or Linux. We require 5+ years of experience developing software for containerized environments such as Docker, Podman, or Kubernetes. We require 5+ years of experience using Git. We require 5+ years of experience building software products in a cloud environment. Preferred: a bachelors degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science, plus related experience, or equivalent directly related experience. Preferred: 2+ years of cybersecurity experience. Preferred: working knowledge of specification formats, disciplined change control, and standards that guide aircraft or product certification and compliance. Preferred: proven ability to lead requirements derivation and allocation across system, subsystem, and software levels with full lifecycle traceability. Preferred: strong expertise in software architecture and design methods. Preferred: advanced capability to architect, build, integrate, optimize, and troubleshoot software components across multiple host environments. Preferred: proficiency in multiple programming paradigms and languages, along with strong database design, usage, and performance awareness. Preferred: deep experience defining implementation, validation, and verification strategies, and using development and test toolchains to improve processes. Preferred: broad domain knowledge of aircraft, missiles, airborne, shipboard, space, or ground systems and the constraints that affect integration and architecture. Responsibilities: We design, develop, test, and maintain non-embedded software across the full lifecycle while meeting industry, customer, safety, and regulatory expectations. We translate customer needs into initial software designs and implementation plans. We create, document, and sustain software architectures, algorithms, interfaces, and detailed designs. We develop, integrate, and refine software products and system integrations, including supplier-provided components. We diagnose complex issues, lead root-cause investigations, and apply corrective measures to improve reliability and performance. We respond to user questions, resolve technical problems, and use feedback to drive improvements. We research emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks and recommend suitable solutions. We establish, track, and improve software processes, tools, and performance metrics aligned with organizational and industry goals. We plan, carry out, and document software research and development efforts.
