Specialist, FPGA/ASIC Hardware Engineer

Salary: $100,000 - 145,000 per year Requirements: We require a bachelors degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree with a minimum of 2 years of related experience. In lieu of a degree, we will consider candidates with at least 8 years of directly applicable experience. We are looking for strong knowledge of Verilog for logic design. We value programming experience in C for embedded systems, including algorithm development, data structure handling, and highly optimized code implementation. Experience using lab equipment such as logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, JTAG/ICE debuggers, and protocol analyzers is preferred. Familiarity with hardware, software, and firmware development practices such as design verification, code reviews, unit testing, prototyping, and product testing is highly desirable. We prefer candidates with familiarity using version control tools such as Subversion, Git, or TFS. A solid understanding of digital design principles, logic architecture, and HDL languages such as Verilog and VHDL is an advantage. Knowledge of SystemVerilog verification methodologies such as AVM, VMM, OVM, or UVM is a plus. Experience developing C# source code for bare-metal microcontroller environments is preferred. Strong English communication skills, both spoken and written, are important. We seek candidates who are action-oriented, well organized, and able to respond to short-notice requests. Responsibilities: We analyze requirements, define architecture, and design and debug FPGA, hardware, microcontroller products, and related firmware. We develop Verilog HDL solutions targeting antifuse and enhanced flash FPGAs. We investigate functional issues and performance behavior in test environments and on target host systems. We contribute to process improvements that strengthen hardware-firmware quality and help accelerate time to market. We support the development of next-generation electronic safe and arm devices using modern technologies. We focus on Verilog FPGA design, SystemVerilog UVM verification, and C#-based microcontroller development as core parts of the role. We work on ASIC and FPGA designs that include sensor interfaces, sequence verification, A/D and D/A interfaces, communication protocols, state machines, and timer chains for defense applications.
