Sr. Systems Engineer

Salary: $70,000 - 101,500 per year Requirements: We require a bachelors degree in an engineering discipline; a masters degree is strongly preferred. We need at least 6 years of experience in systems engineering for information assurance systems or products. We require an active U.S. government security clearance at the DoD Secret level or higher. We require U.S. citizenship. We expect excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to coordinate with others, influence outcomes, and resolve cross-functional issues. We need a thorough command of the systems engineering lifecycle from concept through test. We require strong capability in architecture development, functional analysis, requirements allocation and traceability, trade studies, system synthesis, and integration and verification testing. We look for a proven record in the architecture, design, analysis, integration, and testing of NSA-approved Type 1 certified systems or equipment. We need the ability to serve as the primary subject matter expert for information assurance, security, and cryptography. We require advanced security architecture skills, including making complex design trade-offs that affect system security. We look for experience negotiating security requirements with NSA technical evaluators. We require familiarity with NSA TSRD, IASRD, and FSDA requirements and processes. We need experience developing NSA Security Evaluation Document CDRLs across multiple programs. We require working knowledge of Type 1, Suite A, Suite B, and commercial cryptographic algorithms, both symmetric and asymmetric. We require willingness to travel up to 10% of the time. Preferred: experience with key management systems such as EKMS and KMI as they relate to ECU design. Preferred: experience with cybersecurity and the Risk Management Framework. Preferred: a cybersecurity credential such as CISSP. Preferred: model-based systems engineering experience. Responsibilities: We develop concepts of operations and translate system needs into clear requirements. We decompose and synthesize requirements to support secure system design. We lead architecture development and analytical assessments within the security engineering context. We plan and execute security testing to support certification of national security systems. We apply systems engineering, security, and cryptography expertise throughout the development lifecycle to deliver certified solutions on schedule, within budget, and with controlled residual risk. We collaborate across teams to communicate changes, align efforts, and resolve technical issues.
