About the role

Own the architecture and development of the monitoring product for network visibility and troubleshooting.

About Command|Link Command|Link is a global SaaS Platform providing network, voice services, and IT security solutions, helping corporations consolidate their core infrastructure into a single vendor and layering on a proprietary single pane of glass platform. Command|Link has revolutionized the IT industry by tackling the problems our competitors create. In recognition for our unprecedented innovation and dedication, Command|Link was recognized as the SD-WAN Product of the Year, ITSM Visionary Spotlight, UCaaS Product of the Year, NaaS Product of the Year, Supplier of the Year, and the AT&T Strategic Growth Partner. Command|Link has built the only IT platform for scale that solves ISP vendor sprawl and IT headaches. We make it easy for our customers to get more done, maximize uptime and improve the bottom line. Learn more about us here! This is a 100% remote position About your new role: Brightpath Technologies 's monitoring product is how customers see their network: every device, service, and dependency, surfaced through an API and UI they use every day. Today that experience is harder to build well than it looks, most platforms in this space bury the signal in flat device lists and dated interfaces. We want to build something clearer and faster, grounded in real network topology instead. As a Staff Software Engineer, you'll own that surface end to end: the architecture that determines how it scales, how it consumes the classification and telemetry layers beneath it, and how it evolves as the platform grows. This is full-stack work with a strong network domain emphasis. You'll need to reason clearly about both system design and the experience it produces for someone troubleshooting their network in real time. Key Responsibilities: Own the architecture and long-term direction of the monitoring product's API and UI, including the roadmap for how it scales and evolves. Surface the full account and device hierarchy, from company down through site, probe and collector, device, and service, along with the dependency relationships between them, in a way that stays navigable at scale. Lead the discovery and inventory experience: how new devices and hosts are found and billed (Host Discovery), how correlated system summaries are built (System Discovery), and how customers onboard new sources. Build the screens customers use to create, edit, and review alert history through the alert service. Define the data contracts between the monitoring product and the classification, telemetry, and alert services it depends on, and hold the line on their quality as the platform grows. Set the technical patterns other engineers follow for rendering and interacting with complex, hierarchical network data, including topology visualizations that are genuinely performant, a known weak point across competing platforms. Dive into other teams' projects when architecture, performance, or design decisions need your judgment, and resolve cross-team dependencies before they become blockers. Mentor engineers across the team and raise the bar for what production-grade, domain-aware full-stack work looks like at Brightpath Technologies . Takes on additional responsibilities and projects as needed to support the success of the team and organization. What you'll need for success: Required Deep understanding of network and system topology: how devices, services, and infrastructure relate to each other, and how to represent those relationships clearly to someone troubleshooting live. Production experience with high-volume, latency-sensitive infrastructure: distributed messaging/event streaming (e.g. Kafka) and search or indexing at scale (e.g. OpenSearch), or clear equivalents. Comfort with contract-driven development across teams, using schema/interface definitions like protobuf to keep multiple services honest to a shared contract. Working knowledge of how network telemetry looks in production (SNMP, syslog, ICMP, OpenTelemetry, or similar) and the judgment to reason about what a given signal means for a real network environment. Strong cloud and systems experience across at least two of AWS, Azure, or GCP. A track record of owning architectural decisions in ambiguous problem spaces and driving them to durable outcomes, including influencing shared contracts or platform boundaries across teams. Nice to Have Prior experience building monitoring, observability, or network management products with a customer-facing UI. Familiarity with graph data models and how hierarchical or dependency topology is represented and traversed. Experience designing data visualizations for complex, hierarchical, or graph-structured data. Background with platforms like SolarWinds, Zabbix, PRTG, Auvik, or similar. Understanding what they get right and wrong is the useful part, not having built the better version already. If you don't check every box here but this sounds like your kind of problem, apply. We're more interested in how you think about this space than a perfect skills match. Why
