Cloud Info Security Analyst

Salary: $77,120 - 147,390 per year Requirements: We require a bachelors degree, or 4 years of relevant education and/or experience. We require 2 years of related experience in Information Security, Cybersecurity, and/or Information Technology with a security focus, including accountability for moderately complex tasks and/or projects. We require 1 year of related experience in at least one of the following areas: Security and Risk Management, Asset Security, Security Architecture and Engineering, Communications and Network Security, Identity and Access Management, Security Assessment and Testing, Security Operations, or Software Development Security. We expect developing business acumen in business operations, risk management, industry practices, and emerging trends. We strongly prefer experience investigating cloud security incidents across AWS, Azure, GCP, and SaaS platforms. We strongly prefer a solid understanding of IAM, cloud networking, logging, and cloud-native services. We strongly prefer the ability to analyze security events, determine root cause, and lead remediation efforts. We strongly prefer experience with SIEM, EDR, and cloud security tools such as CrowdStrike, Sentinel, Splunk, Elastic, Wiz, or Prisma Cloud. We strongly prefer knowledge of cloud threats such as credential compromise, privilege escalation, API abuse, and misconfigurations. We strongly prefer strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. We strongly prefer experience developing detections, automations, playbooks, or response workflows to improve incident response efficiency. We strongly prefer knowledge of cloud security frameworks and the MITRE ATT&CK framework. We strongly prefer relevant certifications such as Security+, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, CrowdStrike, GCIH, GCFA, CCSP, or CISSP. Responsibilities: We maintain awareness of the latest critical information security vulnerabilities, threats, and exploits. We independently investigate and respond to moderately complex security events, using root cause analysis to identify threats, contain risk, and improve detection and response capabilities. We monitor internal and external networks, systems, and applications for security anomalies, suspicious activity, attacks, and potential incidents while partnering across teams to strengthen our security posture. We respond to cyber incidents and perform moderately complex analysis using security tools. We build broad knowledge across forensics, networking, servers, coding, and related areas to identify a malicious actors tactics, techniques, and procedures. We apply insights from incident response work to make basic improvements to existing detection capabilities and security controls. We document the findings of completed alerts and assist with incident documentation. We serve as a resource to team members on routine escalated issues. We ensure risks tied to business activities are identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in line with risk and compliance policies and procedures. This opportunity sits on our Cloud Incident Response team within our Cyber Threat Operations Center, where we protect a major financial services organization from evolving cyber threats across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and SaaS platforms. We offer a flexible work environment with an in-office requirement of 4 days per week, and the role may be based in San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Charlotte, NC, or Colorado Springs, CO.
