Software Engineer

Salary: $93,770 - 179,240 per year Requirements: Bachelors degree, or four years of relevant education and/or experience. Four years of software development experience demonstrating technical depth in one or more disciplines or technologies. Two years of experience delivering technology solutions across all phases of the software development lifecycle, including leading code and design reviews. Hands-on software development experience with Java and Spring Boot. Basic understanding of one or more of the following: Java, Swift, Objective-C, COBOL, JavaScript, Kotlin, C++, HTML, CSS, SQL, Go, and Python. Developing business acumen in business operations, risk management, industry practices, and emerging trends. Experience troubleshooting applications and systems to address production issues. Ability to explain technical challenges and solutions. Basic understanding of cloud technologies and tools. Preferred: experience deploying cloud applications with AWS; two or more years using REST frameworks for API development; two or more years with Agile methodology; at least one year of JavaScript experience; two or more years integrating backend services such as JMS, J2C, ORM frameworks, and JDBC; experience building APIs with Spring Boot; experience with event-driven frameworks such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or IBM MQ; ability to implement container-based APIs using OpenShift, Docker, or Kubernetes; relational database design and optimization with Oracle, DB2, MySQL, or PostgreSQL; familiarity with Gradle, Git, GitHub, GitLab, and CI/CD infrastructure; experience testing REST services and developing automated test frameworks; US military experience through military service or as a military spouse/domestic partner. Responsibilities: Design, develop, code, and test complex technical solutions. Troubleshoot and resolve complex application, system, and production issues. Analyze systems and recommend policy or procedural changes to improve operations. Determine and design system specifications, standards, and programming, then prepare and install solutions. Follow the software development lifecycle, contributing to requirements gathering, analysis, design, testing, documentation, implementation, and outage response. Participate in design reviews and build knowledge of key system design principles. Review teammates code and mentor junior engineers, with opportunities to mentor peers. Identify, assess, monitor, and control risks in line with business risk and compliance policies and procedures. Relocation assistance is not available. The salary range is $93,770–$179,240, with actual pay varying by location and experience; eligible employees may receive performance-based incentives.
